Ryan Holter CPA, MBT

Regional Manager

Ryan was born and raised in Willmar, MN. He attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, and Minnesota State University in Mankato where he played tennis and graduated with an Accounting Degree. In 2014 Ryan received is Masters of Business Taxation (MBT) certification from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management.

Ryan joined Haga Kommer in 2019 with over 15 years of Accounting Experience in both the Public and Private Sector. Ryan specializes in Business and Individual Taxation, Tax Planning and Multi-State Tax.

Ryan currently serves at the Treasurer of the Sartell Area Chamber of Commerce and the Sartell Area Youth Baseball Association. Ryan is a 2016 graduate of the St. Cloud Area Leadership Program and Co-Chair of the Sartell Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing.

DAVID C SCHMITZ, CPA

Dave has been a Certified Public Accountant for more than 40 years, working the first 4 years for a local CPA firm, the next 12 years as a self-employed CPA, and the past 28 years as owner/partner for Schmitz & Ketchum, P.A.. He performs a wide range of accounting services, including income tax planning and tax return preparation for individuals and businesses, financial statement compilation and review, business bookkeeping and payroll services, business consulting, projections and valuations, and bank directors’ exams.

Dave is a life-long resident of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, and a graduate from Saint Cloud State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Dave and his wife Joyce have been married for 41 years and have 2 children, Lucy and Joe. He enjoys sports, music, yard work, and travel, and their greatest joys are their 6 grandchildren. He is devoted to his work and serving his clients.

Emma Komppa

Emma joined Haga Kommer in January of 2021 as an Administrative Assistant, and was promoted to Payroll Specialist in August of 2022. She has experience in customer service and sales. She enjoys spending time baking, reading, and hiking. She also loves spending time with family and friends.

Christian Carls

Christian is a Staff Accountant at the St. Cloud office. He provides various tax, payroll, and general accounting services. He joined Haga Kommer in January 2021. He grew up in the Osakis, MN area and went on to attend St. Cloud State University. Christian graduated from St. Cloud State university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2020. He also is currently pursuing to obtain his CPA license.

He spends most of his time playing sports and spending time with friends and family.

Kathy Hagen

Kathy joined HK as an Administrative Assistant in 2024. She brings with her over 20 years of administrative assistant experience.

Kathy has two children and three rescue pets. In her free time, she enjoys spending it with her family and friends, reading, crocheting, gardening, and family vacations.

Julie Schuneman

Julie joined Haga Kommer through a 2024 acquisition, with 28 years’ experience as a Staff Accountant. She provides various accounting services for our business clients including Compilations and Payroll.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, golfing, walking and fishing.

Krista Rainer

Krista has over 18 years of experience in the accounting field and has provided services for clients with compilations, business & individual tax returns, sales tax returns, processing payroll, quarterly returns, W-2’s, and QuickBooks consulting.

Krista and her husband have three daughters. In her free time Krista enjoys being active, spending time at the lake, and taking vacations with her family and friends.

Carly Prokott

Carly joined Haga Kommer in July 2024. She has experience working on individual and business tax returns, as well as small business bookkeeping.

She grew up in Little Falls, MN and went on to attend St. Cloud State University. Carly Graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 2024. She is currently pursuing her CPA license. She enjoys reading, playing music, and spending time with her friends and family in her free time.

Blake Goebel, CPA

Blake was born and raised in Central MN. He attended St. Cloud State University and graduated with an Accounting Degree. He joined Haga Kommer in October 2024. Blake has 6 years of public accounting experience and specializes in Business and Individual Taxation, Tax Planning and Multi-State Tax.

Blake and his Wife have one child and a German Shepherd. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, enjoying sporting events or outdoor activities.
